Reference photo — start and end of the movement.

How to perform

  1. 1.Sit in the leg press with the balls of your feet on the lower edge of the platform.
  2. 2.Extend your legs without locking the knees.
  3. 3.Press through the balls of the feet extending the ankles.
  4. 4.Hold one second at the top.
  5. 5.Let the heels drop into a full stretch.

Common mistakes

  • ●Short range that never reaches the stretch
  • ●Bouncing at the bottom
  • ●Bending the knees to press with the legs
  • ●Placing too much of the foot on the platform

Proper technique

Only the ankle moves: the knee stays extended so the gastrocnemius works fully. Pause in the bottom stretch and squeeze hard at the top, no bouncing.
