Exercises/Glutes/Bodyweight Single-Leg Deadlift

Bodyweight Single-Leg Deadlift

GlutesCompoundLegsBodyweightBeginner

Unilateral bodyweight hinge that trains strength, balance and hip stability. Excellent for correcting glute imbalances.

How to perform

  1. 1.Stand on one leg with a slight knee bend.
  2. 2.Hinge at the hip, leaning your torso forward.
  3. 3.Lift the free leg back, in line with the torso.
  4. 4.Lower until the torso is almost parallel to the floor.
  5. 5.Extend the standing hip to return upright.

Common mistakes

  • ●Rounding the lower back
  • ●Rotating the hip open to the side
  • ●Losing balance by going too fast
  • ●Bending the standing knee too much

Proper technique

Form a straight line from head through torso to the raised leg. Keep the hips level without rotating. Slow, controlled movement to train stability.
