Straight-Bar Cable Biceps Curl
BicepsIsolationPullCableBeginner
Biceps curl with a straight bar attached to the low pulley. The cable provides continuous tension that a free bar loses at the top of the movement.
How to perform
- 1.Attach a straight bar to the low pulley and grip it palms-forward at shoulder width.
- 2.Stand with your elbows pinned to your sides and torso upright.
- 3.Bend your elbows, curling the bar toward your shoulders.
- 4.Squeeze the biceps at the top.
- 5.Lower under control, keeping the tension.
Common mistakes
- ●Swinging the torso
- ●Letting the elbows drift forward on the way up
- ●Losing tension at the bottom
- ●Overloading and cutting the range short
Proper technique
Elbows pinned and static. The cable tension stays from start to finish. Control the lowering phase.
