How to perform

  1. 1.Stand with a dumbbell in each hand in front of your thighs.
  2. 2.Keep your torso braced and elbows almost fully extended.
  3. 3.Raise your arms to the front up to shoulder height.
  4. 4.Lower under control without swinging your body.

Common mistakes

  • ●Using hip and back momentum
  • ●Raising above shoulder level
  • ●Shrugging the traps
  • ●Bending the elbows too much

Proper technique

The movement comes from the shoulder, not the torso. Raise to horizontal and stop. Keep a slight, fixed bend in the elbow.
